HOW TO SPEND WOMEN'S DAY 2019

Whether you're celebrating with loved ones or just want to treat yourself, check out our ideas for how to spend a well-pampered Women's Day in Tbilisi.

Start with breakfast at Ladurée. One of the most luxurious and historical French bakeries, Ladurée, has entered the Georgian market and welcomed its first guests in February 2019 at 21a Abashidze Street in Tbilisi. The brand is famous for its incredible assortment of pastries and delicious macarons and is present in the largest cities around the globe, including London, Milan and Tokyo. The Ladurée team aims to recreate the Parisian air in every branch of the bakery wherever it is in the world. And now, Georgian customers are also being given an opportunity to taste a selection of unique seasonal classic flavors of macarons and other sweets, and to spend a pleasant time in an authentic, super fascinating French atmosphere.

If the weather's good, which it's supposed to be, why not stroll around the Botanical Garden? Step out of the city of Tbilisi into a rich, 400-year-old forest; you can lose half a day as you discover the 161 hectares laden with an array of over 4,500 taxonomic groups. And while you're in the area, why not pop into the Tbilisi Balneological Resort for their unique natural mineral sulfur water baths, volcanic medicinal mud applications, physiotherapy, and therapeutic, health-improving massages from experienced medical personnel.

Beirut Cafe-Lounge in Saburtalo is offering a 20% discount (and surprises!) on their delicious Lebanese lunches for Women's Day if you're hungry for something different after all that walking and bathing.

If you're in the mood for a special present that epitomizes the sentiment of the day- head over to Kiwi Vegan Cafe on Machabeli Street and buy a one-of-a-kind ink-and-watercolor illustration by Armenian-Iranian artist Nafise from her exhibition 'Love Waves - Mother's Love.'

End your day of perfection at the Radisson's Andropov's Ears restaurant at the top of Republic, and enjoy a night of exceptional music and cocktails from 10 PM. Club IVERIA members get 25% off at the bar. For table reservations call: 591087172.

Alternatively, head over to Politika at 164 Agmashenebeli Ave. for the FEMINIST FILM FESTIVAL FROM ROSA TO SIMONE 2019 which, on its first night, will be screening 'Heroines (3 stories)' at 7 PM. Director: Natia Nikolashvili/Studio Animatory, Drawings by Anuk Beluga. The film will be followed by a lecture "The Amazons, Mothers, Women" of a philosopher and a gender researcher Lela Gaprindashvili.
