FERRY ON THE MTKVARI

LEGVTAKHERI VALLEY 

Legvtakhevi is one of the oldest districts, near the famous, Sulphur Baths. In ancient times, the valley separated the capital from the surrounding areas. Name of the district comes from fig trees (literally, Gorge of Fig Trees), though the trees themselves, of which there were many, are long since gone.

The River Tsavkisistskali pours down in a waterfall from the Botanical Garden above, and near it, on the clifftop, you can see the renovated Tbilisian pastel-colored houses and balconies.

The valley was recently renovated and boasts pedestrian bridges, paths, cafés and bars all situated in a historical and amusing atmosphere.


BALNEOLOGICAL RESORT TBILISI SPA

According to the legend about Tbilisi, hot springs were discovered by the Iberian King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The spot became known as “Sulfur Baths”. Medieval Arabian Geographer even mentioned it in his writings: “Tbilisi has Baths where water boils without fire’’.  As stated in other historical manuscripts, in the 13th century, there were 65 baths in the city.

In the 1930s, under the guidance of physiotherapist and balneologist Mikheil Zandukeli, a unique project was created, according to which the resort was to spread 3-4 km up to the Krtsanisi government residence. In 1998, the Tbilisi Spa building was granted the status of cultural heritage. The balneology resort has no analogy in the world.

QARAYAZI HUNTING FARM 

The Qarayazi Hunting Farm is located in Gardabani Valley near Tbilisi.  It organizes high-quality hunting and fishing tours on a 3000 ha. territory.
