Arts and Crafts store Hippie won TBC’s 2017 Startup of yhe Year Award, and for good reason, too. Hippie accessories are tailored to young people that differ from other products on the market.  

The business started in the form of an online store, with the first piece being sold at 12 GEL. Then they bought an old bus that they covered in paintings, and then they started selling their products everywhere possible. 

Today, Hippie products are in high demand. “We make handmade decorations as well as accessories from real flowers and natural stones,” Demetre Markhvaidze, co-founder of Hippie, says. “The most in-demand items are our painted bags, wallets and notebooks. We launched our start-up two years ago and since then we have been gradually developing and expanding our assortment and production. This prize serves as a big stimulus to us, since it means that our efforts and hard work have paid off. Right now, there are only two of us in the company- Lali Tvaliashvili and me - but during busy periods our friends help us out.”
