Hotel Michel is one of the few comfortable mid-range options for accommodation in the emerging beach town of Shekvetili. Attached to the hotel is a small outdoor cafe that is one of the best eateries by far in the village.
Conveniently situated between the black sand beach and the newly built, ultra-professional, Black Sea Arena, Michel is the perfect place to go for lunch after a day in the sun and sea or before heading across the street to a concert. The prices here are great, and the food is even better. The highlight of the menu is local fish, but they also have surprisingly decent pizzas and staples like mashed potatoes and meat patties.
Wash it all down with a glass of cold beer on tap and you'll feel like you're right on the beach. If you're looking for a cheap, tasty bite in Shekvetili, skip the restaurants at the entrance of the village and head straight to Michel - ask any local, they'll point the way!
As with nearly all Georgian restaurants, they don't usually have everything on the menu - so ask before ordering to avoid disappointment!
