The yard of Qartuli Sakhli (Georgian House) resembles a little ethnographic museum. From the rural-style decorations and heavy wooden furniture to the way the waiters are dressed – it is all about old Georgian culture and that famous Georgian hospitality is reflected in the way they treat you.
Inside, though, the huge banquet hall explains the fact that this restaurant is quite popular among those who want to have a huge wedding with all the relatives invited, as the Georgians often do. The hall also has great acoustics, so during the traditional folk show that happens here quite often, every tune of old songs vibrates right into your chest.
There is also a smaller hall with an open kitchen, where you can see mtsvadi (barbeque) and khachapuri being prepared right in front of you. Upon request, the chefs can organize cooking master-classes.
The menu is very long and very traditional. Don’t be confused: whatever you pick, be it meat or veggies, it will be very well prepared.
