The first Gamrekeli Gallery can be found in the house of the Georgian modernist painter Irakli Gamrekeli (1894 – 1943) on Ingorokva Street in the center of Tbilisi. Various items that belonged to the artist are stored there, and exhibitions of contemporary Georgian painters are regularly shown there. The interior is very simple: wooden floors and white and blue walls: nothing to distract you from your encounter with the artwork.
The founders wanted to develop the gallery and opened a second branch in the green Bagebi area of Tbilisi, at the very end of Chavchavadze Avenue. The loft-style space with brick walls has already hosted several exhibitions and artistic performances combining contemporary dances and visual art.
