One of the summertime highlights of Tbilisi, Mzesumzira Festival, takes place every weekend in Mtatsminda Park. It started several years ago in the green zone around Kus Tba (Turtle Lake), then moved to Lisi Lake, and since 2016, the festival has been held on the most famous mountain in the city.
When the whole city is suffering from the summer heat, young music lovers gather in a cozy corner of the park, in the open air Mzesumzira Café or in a space called Mzesumzira eZo (“yard”), where the air is cooler and the music plays through the afternoon and night.
But it’s not only about live concerts and DJ sets, as a handicraft fair and yoga classes are also offered to the guests of Mzesumzira eZo. In 2017, the closing parties will take place on the 1st, 2nd and the 9th of September.
