Kutaisi - a Restaurant in the Woods
Nestled in the heart of the evergreen pine trees of Besik Gabashvili Park in Kutaisi, Dzirdzveli, a quaint restaurant made from wood and stones offers delicious Georgian cuisine. With a selection of fish and meat dishes, the food is traditional Georgian. The buttery khachapuri and meaty khinkali are especially delicious.
The interior resembles something between a hunting lodge and ancient banquet hall. Animal skins are pinned to the wooden panels that line the walls. Customers tuck into their Georgian feasts sitting at long wooden tables on benches whilst enjoying the warmth of the open fire in the brick hearth which roars during the colder winter months.
Gifted musicians entertain guests with traditional Georgian polyphonic music and guitar. Of course, no Georgian feast is complete without local wine. Glasses are raised toast after toast and the wine pours aplenty. If you are spending time in Kutaisi, Dzirdzveli is a welcoming restaurant to visit.
