A fresh bright Canudos has opened for the summer season. No longer grungy, it is hip and bright! Wood and African decor dominate the walls, and you can sit at wooden chairs and tables or head outside into the public garden. It's cheep and very cheerful- with friendly English-speaking staff. The bartender is said to be able to cook whatever you want with lightning speed (we've yet to test that claim for you!). Summer evenings draw quite a crowd to the small park/terrace in front of the bar, there to drink and enjoy the buzz of multi-lingual conversation as they listen to folk, Gypsy and Eastern music. Overall, a nice place to start a budget evening with a group of friends.

As a point of interest, the bar is named after the ancient city in Brazil. According to legend, it is home only to those who are pure of heart. The Tbilisi version says it runs on the same concept; collecting a "peculiar, but respectable audience". .
