The city’s botanical garden is more stunning than words can describe. Stretched over 108 hectares, the garden currently consists of 9 floral sections - Caucasian Humid Subtropics, East Asia, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, and the Mediterranean. Opened in 1912, Batumi Botanical Garden has since undergone many changes and is now part of BGCI (Botanical Gardens Conservation International) and includes a large scientific library alongside its herbarium. Apart from seeing the breathtaking greenery, you also have the chance to books various camping tours, go on a picnic, sign up for guided excur- sions and even get married in the Garden! Need to know: It’s about a 25 minute drive from the city center. A regular entrance fee costs 8 GEL and for children under the age of 16 – 1 GEL. A camping package will cost you 15 GEL, excursion guide – 50 GEL and wedding ceremony planning –100+ GEL.
