Halloween is officially upon us. The day when the line between the living and the dead blurs; the day of candy and treats; the day of terrifying costumes and raging parties—Halloween is a constant favorite. A festive Western holiday of Celtic roots, Halloween is always popular. And this spooky holiday has not surpassed Georgia. In celebration of the coveted event, Tbilisi is offering many ways for you to celebrate.
Wednesday October 31
Art-Cafe Home is one of the venues for Halloween events this year. Tonight, the hipster cafe will screen an animation by digital artist Zack Dougherty. In addition, German DJ Sender Berlin will perform, and make-up artists will attend do make-up and face-paint guests.
The Hard Rock Cafe is also hosting an event. Swiss electronic due Yellow will be performing there.
The restaurant La Boheme is hosting a costume party with music from Georgian artists DJ Lasha Babuadze and SvanSikh and a costume competition: a night sure not to disappoint.
Dive Bar is Halloweening from 9 PM: "Calling all goblins, ghosts, and freaks of the night! Come on down...if you dare...to the spooky bar behind the Opera for an evening full of frights. For those in costume, inject yourself with a free syringe of blood (wine OR vodka, cherry juice).We will have a vote for best costume at the end of the night where the most creative monster will receive a bottle of zombie's blood to share with their friends."
Valiko's is inviting you for a Deadly Beautiful Halloween in the 130-year-old mansion with punch and a DJ setting the mood.
The weekend
Looking ahead to the weekend, the Halloween festivities continue on November 2 at Moxy from 8 PM. The most creative costume and make-up will be awarded a special prize and you'll be entertained by spooky sounds from their Resident DJ alongside ghoulish punch drinks and beers from 5 GEL.
On Saturday 3, the infamous Bassiani night club is offering a Halloween-themed version of their monthly Horoom party. The Horoom party is thrown once a month at Bassiani in conjunction with an LGBTQ civil rights group in Georgia. Open to those of the LGBTQ community and its supporters, this month’s party will also celebrate Halloween.
