PLAN AHEAD: NEW YEAR'S WEEKEND

Just two days left and 2017 will be over, and many of us are still frantically searching for somewhere to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

As per tradition, Tbilisi has plenty to offer for any budget, taste or preference. 

Take Deda Ena Garden, for example: transformed into a New Year town, where you can enjoy a Christmas market, skate on ice, attend woodcrafting workshops, and listen to live music performed by Niaz Diasamidze and 33ა, Robi Kukhianidze and Outsider group, Para orchestra and Datuna Aladashvili, and plenty of entertaining activities for children, on till January 7.

If you’re in the last minute New Year shopping hustle, head to Tbilisi Mall and its New Year Fair on till December 31, to grab some traditional crafts and a variety of products from gifts to eco-friendly items, toys,  traditional Georgian clothing and more.

Planning where to go to celebrate New Year’s Eve?  Here are just some of the options we’ve spotted.

There'll be a New Year's Eve celebration at La Boheme in Vake, including a Gala Dinner with a 6-course 'Luxe' set menu, an open bar and a champagne toast at midnight, accompanied by Eternity Duo Vocals & Saxophone and a New Disco Party. It's an all-inclusive table package for 250 GEL per person. 

Schuchmann Wine Bar & Restaurant is offering you the chance to celebrate New Year’s Eve at 8 Sioni Street, Tbilisi.

From 10.30 PM the locale promises live music, gifts and competitions, paired with Georgian classical and avant gard cuisine, and a number of top wines for tasting. Tickets cost 270 GEL per person.

The New Year’s Eve Celebration at Fabrika hostel promises “Great eats and drinks, the music, the rhythm and all those groovy things.” So, if you’re looking for somewhere to party for New Year’s Eve, and to say a hip goodbye to 2017, Fabrika is the place for you. An all-inclusive package is 150 GEL (early bird price) with a New Year buffet, glass of wine and live music.

If you happen to be in Batumi for the New Year, you’ll be able to taste locally-produced cheese and wine at the wine and cheese festivals in Europe Square.The New Year program promises to have many entertainment activities for children as well, with various circus and theater performances, and a show of acrobatic Santas.

The New Year concert will start at 11PM on December 31 and the celebrations will last till January 2.
