PLAN AHEAD: BATUMI KITE FESTIVAL

On July 28-29, Batumi will host a Kite Festival for the very first time in Georgia. The purpose of the event is to further develop kite flying, for those passionate about the sport.

The festival will start at 12 PM on the seaside of Batumi Central Park. With up to 100 different types and sizes of kites, participants will enjoy a kite show and get to fly their own kites. In addition, guests can participate in various master-classes: amateur and sport kite flying and hand-made kite assembling.

Invited DJs will play throughout the event. The festival is organized by ‘Kitedreams Georgia’.

Batumi is characterized for its diversity of summer festivals and cultural-entertainment events. This year, only in July, more than 60 cultural and entertainment events are being held in the city, including the well-known Black Sea Jazz Festival, with Robert Plant, a rock-star legend and soloist of Led Zeppelin, having performed the opening ceremony at the Black Sea Arena.
