Whether you’re here as a tourist, have decided to make the Georgian capital your home, or are a local; one thing is for certain, Tbilisi by night does not disappoint. The ideology behind Where.ge was to promote the huge potential our fair city has, that you, the general public, should have the chance to experience. So, with this in mind, we thought we’d offer an example of the perfect Tbilisi night.
Pre-Dinner
You don’t have to be here long to figure out that Tbilisi has some stunning views. Take a stroll through leafy Vake, or explore the cobbled streets of the city’s old town. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous in the winter weather, take a ride up to Mtatsminda’s Funicular complex, where the views at night (sunset, especially) are spectacular. You can take the funicular railcar to get up there (details below)
Dinner
Well, not an easy category to sum-up in a paragraph! If you haven’t yet tried Georgian food, where have you been?! For such a small country, Georgian food is diverse and rich in flavor. A favorite spot for locals and tourists alike is Georgian House (Georgian: Qartuli Sakhli) restaurant, on the left side of Tbilisi’s River Mtkvari. The food here is rather exquisite, with popular Georgian favorites such as Khinkali, Khachapuri and Barbeque ‘mtsvade’ a plenty. Couple that with the fabulous entertainment the restaurant put on each night, and you’ve got yourself the perfect place to enjoy the best the city has to offer, all under one roof!
After Dinner Drinks / Dancing
Suitably full? Well, save some room to experience a smidge o’Tbilisi nightlife! The most popular area in Tbilisi for clubbing, especially with tourists, is the famous (perhaps infamous for some, not to everyone’s taste..) Shardeni in old Tbilisi. However, we thought you might like to be introduced to some other city hot spots. Sky Bar in Tbilisi’s Avlabari district may just well be the perfect way to round off your night out! Located on the top floor of the building is this panoramic bar come club. Enjoy the best current live bands and DJ’s whilst gazing out over the mesmerizing views of Tbilisi. Fun crowd, great cocktails and the PERFECT photo opportunity. Enjoy!
