MANUSCRIPTS GO 3D

For the first time in Georgia, a 3D video-installation has been installed in Tbilisi, presenting a unique collection from the National Center of Manuscripts of Korneli Kekelidze.

The National Center of Manuscripts is an important intellectual and cultural heritage site. Its collections contain unique ecclesiastical and secular manuscripts - richly painted Biblical excerpts, as well as astrological themes, "Kartlis Tskhovreba," "The Knight in the Panther's Skin," maps by Vakhushti Batonishvili, and others.

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, says that the 3D installation is fascinating and significant. The purpose of the exhibition is to popularize the material in the National Center of Manuscripts among Georgians and to increase the international awareness of significant Georgian works. "The material preserved in the Center of Manuscripts is interesting and important for Georgians and foreigners as well as the scientists and people interested in history and culture," says the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport.
