A time of writing, Georgia has 5000 people in quarantine. Some are domestic cases who have been in contact with those declared positive with COVID-19, others are people who have returned home from abroad. Many are getting the chance to spend those 14 days of waiting for symptoms to appear (or not) in Georgia's top hotels, whose facilities were kindly handed over for the Georgian government to use during the pandemic.

Georgian National Tourism Administration employees, along with representatives of the ministries of Health and Internal Affairs, hold regular meetings with the staff and managers of the hotels in order to train them and inform about mandatory procedures that must be followed during the quarantine.

Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava have thanked the hotel owners for their kind initiative, emphasizing that with this move, they have demonstrated a high sense of social responsibility and urging other hotels as well to follow their example and get involved in the important process of preventing a new coronavirus in Georgia.
