On March 27, at the Rustaveli Theater the dancers of the Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet will perform DOVIN- DOVEN-DOVLI, a contemporary ballet based on Galaktion Tabidze’s poetry.
Nino Gogua, (lead soloist), Natia Bunturi, (lead soloist), Mariam Darchia (ballet soloist), Anar Mikaylov (Guest Artist), Intigam Mammadov (ballet soloist), Mariam Koiava, Natalia Kukuladze, Tinatin Mchedlidze and Gvantsa Gelashvili will dance to poems recited by Zaza Lebanidze, Zaza Papuashvili, Nina Kasradze, Mikheil Naneishvili, Givi Shakhnazari, Vakhtang Javakhadze, Davit Tserediani, Akaki Khintibidze.
The recording of Galaktion himself reading The Moon Over Mtatsminda will also feature - a poem and voice which give many goosebumps when they listen to the much-loved verse.
Also used in the ballet are Claude Debussy’s Claire de Lune, Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No 9 Adagio, Alban Berg’s Lulu Suite variations.
"The dramaturgical line of the performance unfolds in a poetic language, the word prompts the movement, the body follows the rhythm, character and nature of the poem. Each dancer stands out, their individuality visible even in the chorus. The words that come from the heart – dovin-doven-dovli… from Galaktion’s poem It Will Come… But When? – have no specific meaning, I think each person perceives them in their own way, just like it is with the performance as a whole. The final episode is The Moon Over Mtatsminda, a kind of an echo between us: I perform it on the stage while father – on the screen."
