5 MUST-SEE NATURAL PARKS

No matter when you decide to visit Georgia, the National Parks of Georgia await. Open year-round, they are rich in their varied ecosystems and infrastructure. Discover them and find yourself in a totally different world full of magical experiences. Check out the options below.


SATAPLIA

Start your day with a trip to Sataplia, 10km outside Kutaisi, where you’ll have an opportunity to discover diverse nature and various cultural monuments, including prehistoric dinosaur footprints a Colchis forest and impressive panoramic views.

Don’t miss the two tourist trails and panoramic café!  


PROMETHEUS CAVE

After visiting Sataplia, you’ll already have some cave exploring experience, so let’s take it up a level at the popular Prometheus Cave, located just 20 km from Sataplia.

Travel 40 meters underground into a magical and colorful world famous for its stalactites and stalagmites. There are six halls to discover: Argonauts, Kolkheti, Medea, Love, Prometheus and Georgia. After an hour of moving through the cave, you might think you’ve seen it all…and then you’ll come to the underground river. Jump in a raft and go see more!


OKATSE CANYON

Your next stop should be the Okatse Canyon, half-an-hour from the Prometheus Cave. It is the only place in Georgia with an extreme suspended trail, 80-140 meters above the ground.  

Before visiting Okatse Canyon, you’ll pass through the atmospheric and historical forest of Dadiani.


MARTVILI CANYON

Martvili Canyon is a must-see destination while visiting Georgia, 20 km from Okatse Canyon. Martvili Canyon is on the list of eight best diving destinations in Europe and gives you the chance to walk on suspended trails over the waterfalls and up historic steps that once served royalty. Take a raft tour on the river and discover a magical world under the water.


KOLKHETI NATIONAL PARK

One of the most breathtaking destinations is Kolkheti National Park, 70 km from Martvili Canyon.

Discover the Paliastomi Lake, where pontoon and motor boat tours are available. You will have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of Paliastomi Lake and take a tour on Golden Lake and River Pichori. While visiting the park, your imagination might well take you to the Everglades! Kolkheti National Park is the best place for bird-watchers, as here you can see more than 200 species of migratory birds.
