In the very heart of Vake, the central residential area of Tbilisi considered to be the hub of intelligentsia and hipsters, there is a tiny coffee shop waiting for you in one of the courtyards.

You will recognize it immediately: a small jungle growing out of the concrete. In the warm season (from April to October) it is possible to sit outside – on a bench or in abeach chair and escape from the city buzz.

“I came here in 2009 and fell in love with Georgia at first sight. I’ve spent half my life here. I love food and I spent lot of time travelling abroad observing foreign cuisines. First I decided to create a “pishki” (bagel) place for  students because Pin Pon is close to Tbilisi State University. But when I started the business it turned out that the place was too special for just pishkis. And I’m a huge coffee lover and I thought, why not make a place where you could also get specialty coffee?” says founder of Pin Pon, Nikita [U1] .

The name itself comes from the game ping pong, which is a feature of the café as, in the courtyard, you can play ping pong on a sunny day. In fact, there’s lot more about this café than you might expect.

Opened in July, it surprises most customers when they see the offers they have and how reasonable the prices are. There are fresh snacks and salads with the “sous-vide” method of preparation. The intent is to cook the item properly without overcooking the outside and to retain the moisture.

You’ll be amazed by the varieties of coffee here. Pin Pon is a paradise for coffee lovers. They roast the best coffee beans in a coffee lab and pour it into special Pin Pon cups. Even the cups are comfy, and you enjoy every single drop of your coffee. If you are fond of Flat White, Filtered, Aeropress or cold brew coffee, otherwise hard to find in Tbilisi, then Pin Pon is the perfect spot for you. Aside from coffee, the café has interesting options for tea as well. Their specialty is spiced tea and they use local fresh herbs. Hot drinks come with delicious homemade cookies- cocoa balls or lemon. Pin Pon aims to provide fresh, delicious and healthy options in a creative way.

Fancy something other than tea or coffee? No problem. What about some Melon Vodka? Their lemonades are made freshly and change each season. Right now, they’re offering Gluhwein and cocktails based on apperol - spritz.

The interior is sweet and cozy, painted by the owner himself. He puts all his experience and creativity into one place to make people happy and create an amusing space.
