NEW MZIURI

Many years ago, writer Nodar Dumbadze came up with the idea of creating a fairy-tale town for children in the middle of Tbilisi. Mziuri Park was opened in 1982 in the Vere River valley but the project was never completed. During the civil war of the 1990s, the park’s infrastructure was destroyed and its territory has since been reduced due to  construction. Despite the difficulties, Mziuri began anew in 2006 when a group of young people decided to bring Dumbadze’s ideas back to life. Projects were begun, including the foundation of the annual children’s festival, “Festival of the Sun,” and the opening of the New Mziuri Café.

New Mziuri has gained a fantastic reputation as a must-visit locale thanks to the staff, frequent guests and hipenvironment that is specific to Mziuri Park. Emphasis there is put on serving healthy dishes only, completely side-stepping junk food.

Come, relax, enjoy the terrace which, though hidden in the depths of the gorge below Vake, still captures the sun. The Cafe is fresh, modern, light and at the same time cozy- adapted for children, those with disabilities and those hosting events.

There's always something going on here- their latest offering is a kids' Sunday school and Pet Training. And there is always something delicious to eat and drink on their affordable menu, served by friendly and multi-lingual staff.
