Hofbräuhaus or HB, as most people call it, is a classic Georgian pub stylized as a classic Bavarian pub. It is a chain that can be found throughout Tbilisi. The décor matches its namesake, Munich’s famous Hofbräuhaus am Platzl – blue and white checker patterns, heavy wooden steins as beer taps, and murals decorating the walls featuring Bavarian milk maids, noble stags, and castles in dark forests.
They sell HB beer on draught. The menu includes some German dishes, such as big soft pretzels and sausages, but is mostly Georgian favorites like khinkali, khachapuri, and lavash-wrapped kebabs. The food is quite good, and prices reasonable. It’s a great spot to go with a large group. Most locations also have small TVs for watching sporting events.
There is also a location in Batumi.
