GUEST HOUSE SHINA, TUSHETI

One of the most beautiful regions of Georgia – Tusheti – is located in northeastern Georgia, on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. The region is spread across an area of 896 square kilometers and stands at a height of 1650-4493 meters above sea level.

Natia opened one of the most popular hotels in Tusheti, Shina, in 2010. Her two children and several local residents also work there and not only do they provide great accommodation and an excellent atmosphere, they can also cook you pastries, bread and pizza using ecologically clean local products. So if Georgian cuisine is not to your taste, you can now give Tushetian pizza a try instead!

Shina is built of stones of the traditional type, and the interior lifestyle is traditional too, but with a nice fusion of the comfort you need on your travels. The house has a large balcony with impressive views, and on the ground floor there is a wooden dining room and living area decorated with the homemade handicraft pieces (also available to buy!). There is also a traditional insular fireplace which the Tush people call “shuatsetskhli”.

There are 8 well-equipped and light rooms with private bathrooms. 18 guests can stay there at any one time.

In 2010, the association Elkana and the administration of the protected territories of Tusheti implemented the categorization of family hotels. As a result, Shina was awarded one “sun” which is the highest evaluation among the hotels of Tusheti.

Bask in the wild Tushetian mountains and feel Georgia as it was, in the comfort of Natia's warm guest house.
