Bagrati 1003 is one of Kutaisi’s flagship hotels, located in the city center overlooking the Rioni River and its famous White Bridge. The hotel leans towards luxury but doesn’t quite get there. The rooms are simple and clean, and it is listed as a four-star hotel, but don’t expect western-style four-star service or amenities. 

The hotel’s restaurant is quite good, if lacking atmosphere or local color. The multi-story lobby leaves an impression, and the staff is generally attentive. The deluxe rooms are, seemingly, royalty themed, with dramatic headboards and gold curtains that match the wallpaper.

The hotel offers a continental breakfast, but the spread is modest. Wi-Fi connectivity is spotty, so if you plan to work, it might be best to head to one of Kutaisi’s many cafes and restaurants. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring the city and within easy walking distance to most tourist sites. There is a large ballroom that offers live entertainment on special occasions, such as New Year’s Eve. According to Bagrati 1003’s website, they also have a conference hall, banquet hall, 24 hour bar, and beauty salon.
