TEA LOMINADZE: EXCLUSIVE TIPS FOR SHOPPING LOVERS

Marketing Director of East Point shopping and entertainment city, Teiko Lominadze, reveals her favorite Tbilisi shopping destinations to Where readers.

DRY BRIDGE

The first time I visited dry bridge was in my early childhood. Even as young as I was, I clearly remember how captivated I was with the beautiful paintings, silver cutlery,

crockery, antiques and surrounding buzz. Located in the heart of Old Tbilisi, the biggest flea market in town is a unique place to take your foreign guests to.

LAGIDZE GALLERY

From Sotheby’s in London all the way to MOMA in New York, Georgian artists seem to have it all and I take great pride in that fact. Levan Lagidze is one of my favorite Georgian painters, known for his unique painting technique. If you happen to be an art lover, his gallery is definitely the place for you (23 Paliashvili Str.).

SAMOSELI PIRVELI

A unique store where you can buy modernized Georgian national clothing. If you want to make a statement with your outfit, or simply want to take a part of Georgia home with you, make sure to pop in (22 Chavchavadze Ave.).

POKANY

As a real girl, I’ve always had a thing for beautiful accessories. I remember my first visit to Pokany’s store (7 Bambis Rigi) - all those enamel, ceramic and mosaic pieces of jewelry blew me away. Inspired by antique Georgian jewelry, the pieces handmade by Georgian nuns from the monastery of Poka are genuinely beautiful. I personally like to blend their pieces into my everyday looks.

EAST POINT

East Point (2 Tvalchrelidze Str.) is a city in a city. If you’re looking for shopping, entertainment and leisure all in one, it should be your destination of choice! Bowling, Dining, multiplex with Tbilisi’s one-and-only IMAX screen, an amusement park, hypermarket, and the biggest DIY store in Georgia: East Point is a western lifestyle brought to eastern Tbilisi.
