I'LL BRING YOU FLOWERS...

If you know the right parts of the city, Tbilisi is a green-fingers dream. Whilst, upon first glance, the capital may not be obviously sprawled with bloom, there are some real treats to be bestowed upon those who seek!

Field-flowers are especially popular in Tbilisi, and are sold on many of the city’s streets, especially in and around spring. Whilst these flowers on their own are unique and beautiful, if can also find more professional and rarer flower displays at one of Tbilisi’s many florists.

The city’s trendy Vake district has a store called Flowers.ge – Whilst more on the pricey side, they boast many different types of flowers and even international delivery.

A more affordable option, yet still with a great selection, is Rosenbloom Flowers on Chavchavadze Avenue. Easy to find and some great options for all occasions.

Yet, probably the most famous area in the city for a vast array of flowers is on Kolmeurneoba Square, in downtown Tbilisi, behind Rustaveli Avenue. Here, you will smell the flowers before you see them, although the visual delights of the market are worth a visit alone.

Interesting fact: Did you know that, in Georgian tradition, flowers for a happy occasion should be gifted in odd numbers? Even-numbered bouquets of flowers are traditionally offered when somebody has died. Whilst this may sound bleak, it is indeed still a rule that is abided by to this day for some.
