IAKOB NIKOLADZE HOUSE-MUSEUM

Iakob Nikoladze (1876-1951) is considered the founder of modern Georgian sculpture. His house-museum is in his former studio, built in 1924 by architect Anatoli Kargin.

The museum, which is a part of the Georgian National Museum complex, houses 114 sculptures by Nikoladze. It Is small but packed with art in every corner, on every shelf.

A visit is a great way to learn more about Georgia’s rich history of art. While Nikoladze is well known and celebrated within Georgia, his work is still rarely recognized abroad.
